The focus of this bibliography is within the range of the Pacific Northwest Forest Plan of the USDA Forest Service. Riparian areas are terrestrial zones that are influenced by annual or intermittent flows, a high water table and wet soils. The riparian area of influence between a riparian area and it¼s adjacent uplands is a transition zone with a noticeable chance in plant composition and abundance. In addition, riparian ecosystems provide food, water and cover which supports a rich biodiversity of organisms. The term riparian may include words or concepts which are often taken as synonymous or related.
